behold. . .

Contributed by elle on Monday, 19th October 2009 @ 07:41:48 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

I cannot help but pass these thoughts
& pause, awhile
in depth.

a reaching of some understanding
some understanding. . .

an assembling. . . of our grief

a momentary leveling
of this pride
it predisposes me.

let not the magic of my bliss
subdue. . .
or conquer me.

a catalyst for many seasons,
concubine of need

behold. . .
you were too painfully precious,
loves' semi-deity

rare form, we flaunt
desire's montage instills cha-odyssey

transient mask of ultimatums
hostage,
debating finality

our quest two-fold
to manifest loves' lost identity
& perhaps to share
the rarest form of fascination
thought
engraved with need.

nature of a warrior questing, fierce
is our sown seed. . .
but having not the strength
to hold love
we bow
& set ours' free.

now. . .
just now
I thought I felt
the trembling of the breeze
a melonchaly longing,
gentle as a reed. . .

whispers fade 'til there's no trace
lonely chrysalis echoing
loves' final ghostly plea.

a not quite right
feeling
funneling
overtaking me
even as I attempt. . . this
letting go
if only by degree

distress
now
my new best friend.
without a warning
it befriended me.

Wow. This is magnificent. Wonderfully creative, fluid and emotional, it was a perfect poetic concoction. Of course, we presume comments are little more than flattery with an ulterior motive, but I honestly, genuinely thought that this was brilliant. An educational piece for those on this site who aren’t as good at poetry as they might like to think, like me. I especially loved this bit:

now. . .
just now
I thought I felt
the trembling of the breeze
a melonchaly longing,
gentle as a reed. . .

It’s just such sexy, yummy writing; like the poetic equivalent of cheese crackers...

Best wishes,
Phil

Elle...wow... I'm held, speachless
and trembling. In my own personal grief,
this piece resonates, and blooms, full
of both good and sad emotions, full of
both life and letting go.

"...loves' final ghostly plea..."
It haunts me...

An amazing piece. Thank you for sharing
it with us all.

Be well,
~dawn

Holy freaking Toledo, my dearest Elle. This is so damn emotional but that last stanza sinks into the jugular like the fangs of a vampire or wolf or somethin!!!

I am very impressed.
