Peace of mind
This pain inside of me
aches to be released
my soul has protected it
My heart has tried to ignore it
but the darkness of life
will always find it
no matter where it hides
and with great joy
will shove it into my eyesight again
because the darkness
loves to see me ache inside.
Knows what makes me cry.
How can I rid myself of this
Once and for all? Be done with it
Never to be afraid of when or where
it may show its ugly face to me.
I walk gently so I will not wake it,
I speak in a whisper,
so it will not hear my words.
But regardless how hard I try
it hears me and makes me suffer again.
Oh I beg for a cure of this sickness.
Let me find some peace of mind.
It would be so wonderful
if One day I could find
the answer to my plight.
When I do, no longer will
I be afraid of the darkness
I will embrace the night
with a loud smile and
close my eyes for once
and dream .
