All I wanted was a little more time

I rushed that day, but I knew I was late.
To see you one last time, and say goodbye.

I had to stay back and study some more,
And there you left, to fight the world alone.

I wish I could make you stay,
To say those things I never could say.

I wish I had a little more time,
To let you know, My love is sublime

But there I was, running late,
Just to reach, when you went away.

You waved at me and your eyes spoke too,
It was then I knew, you waited for me too.
