OVERLY SENSITIVE HEARTS

OVERLY SENSITIVE HEARTS
Are so soft and tender...........
Sensitive hearts touched n'er forgets ever!
In "Sensitives" their every cell is a "feeler."
Trembling alive, a 'calling' to be a healer.

Nectar so sweet, oft' times misunderstood
They are incapable of hurting another...........
even if they could,
A sensitive heart is too delicate, like softwood
N'er mean nor vindictive--scaring it would.

A rose is a gift from God or so poets declare..........
Sensitive hearts are gifts from him also........
they help their owners care.
I've dealt with my "gift" for over 72 years
every minute prepare,
To shelter it from insensitive people
and their insensitive warfare.

Accept your painful heart......
let it be,
Motivational, penetratable, adds kindness,
loving concern, plus empathy,
Touchs sad and forlorn souls,
lively comfort, viviciousness--comely
Warm glowing gushes of heartiness.....
'die like a rose in arobic pain'
n'er
accept apathy!

"The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this:
A human creature born abnormally, inhumanly sensitive.
To him a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise,
a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy,
a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death.
Add to this cruelly delicate organism
the overpowering necessity to create, create, create
so that without the creating of music
or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning,
his very breath is cut off from him.
He must create, must pour out creation.
By some strange, unknown, inward urgency
he is not really alive unless he is creating."

~Pearl S. Buck~

this is so very beautiful....yes I too have a sensitive heart....i could never be so callous and cruel....insensitive to others' pain as others have been.....are to mine.....I would rather ache for a lifetime from the damage...then to be so cold...the light must prevail...somehow...some way....you have captured this so well here....

Hi Consue,

''Music soothes the savage soul!'' How true!

What was that piece? It's almost beddybye time
here in 'savage' Scotland, and I will play that
a couple of more times before I retire.

Do you know what I like about your poetry?
To get your message across, you only have
to state it's title followed by your colourful
photos and animations - but then you add
words, and this heightens the power and
beauty of everything you create on this site!
You are a true poet, madam! You are an
inspiration!

I will listen to the musical introduction at least
a couple more times, and then I will retire with
a smile on my face. Thank you!

Tommy (x)

Wonderfully beautiful, my dear ConSue.

Unfortunately, I don't think I have an "overly" sensitive heart as if someone gets me angry enough, I turn into a holy terror. with age and over time, I have learned to keep myself in check and do not lose my temper as often but unfortunately it resides inside me. Perhaps as a defense mechanism? Perhaps my heritage. Not really sure. But I at least have a sensitve heart...this much I know...just perhaps not overly sensitve.

But I do love the poem. Nicely done.

Some would call it a curse, but I wouldn't. It's that "overly sensitive heart" that tells me I'm alive.

As the Beatles so succinctly put it:

"In the end the love you take
is equal to the love you make."

Or, as I wrote in an essay, Freedom Is Like That:

"I've heard it said that love is a gift which, when given freely to others, is increased for those who do the giving. Freedom is like that, too."

Enjoyed the write immensely. Hold on to that "overly sensitive heart." It's pure gold.

Oh Con Con this one made me cry.
But of course you know that I do too.
I love your heart! This poem and the photos are so beautiful and very true. Loved the end you added to it as well.......

Hugs
Michelle

there is such a journey involved from childhood for the overly sensitive heart.its a painful and sometimes lonely journey in accepting thats who you are and that its ok to be that way. you have captured that journey and those difficulties in a beautiful and soulful way and have made me feel alive!

Wow, you've got a great body of work, I think this one is my favorite so far(although I haven't read all of them yet). It's amazing how you get inspired by photos, but they do say pictures are worth 1000 words, you express them very nicely.
