Tongue-tied at the state line Thought we would make it by now But I keep looking at you With the same questions in my head And you just turn up the radio With the same words left unsaid
And you're right next to me But I don't know where you are I'm right next to you But you don't know who I am
Blinded in the sunlight The road just disappears But you keep on driving Until we find the next dead end I stare out the window As your anger hops in
And you're right next to me But I don't know where you are And I'm right next to you But you don't know who I am
Romanced in the darkness My heart is too heavy to care So I just take a deep breath Waiting for this ride to end Because every time I reach for you The distance appears again
And you're right next to me But I never seem to reach you And I'm right next to you But you never seem to care

I remember you telling me about him.
I liked this because it captures the trucking and the life end as well.

Ugh, I definitely know that feeling, Karabeara.
I really like this poem and am glad to see you finished it and finally brought it to life. IT'S ALIVE. IT'S ALIIIIVE! eh-hem....
Anyway, I like that it has a song feel to it. Chorus and all. I like the change up in the chorus too.
So glad to see you back. So glad to see you posting again.
Ebar huggins.

I feel your isolation, longing and desperation and have been there myself.
I really take pleasure in reading work that I can experience and I definitely experienced this with your wondrous placement of words.
Thank you, please keep writing I'll keep reading.
