I see the smoke rising from the ground and kiss me I hear the paper burning The first thing, I smell the morning and theres a fiery ring The world is still turning
I want love, I want a life But this old broken heart of mine, cuts like a knife
I fear my time has come to pass and the end is near Time is running out I ride to a town with fields of green and the river side Thoughts bind me to rusty chains of doubt
I feel hate, I feel the pain You never see me weep, because I cry in the rain
I walk on a porch without a swing and the trees talk I taste the West-wind blowing I stand looking at the silver moon with a golden band And the juicy stars are glowing
The misty air makes my heart feel light I smile at solitude as I hold the last one for the night.
