The figure stands tall as it slices through the waves
A shining beacon of pride and strength
The waves cut against it, battering, testing its resolve
Hoping the day will come when it takes its final breath
Yet it continues on through great adversity
In spite of the battles that lie ahead
The sound of guns batter the silence
Yet still it faces forward waiting for the enemies to come
The blood saturates through the shining decks
The rage and bitterness reigns
Willing, wishing her to sink into despair
Yet still she remains fearless, calm
The sound of victory drifts upon her
She dances through waves in fits of joy
Nothing can ruin this moment, this release
As she is finally free to meet the horizon
As the waves settle the sailors in awe approach
Yet all advances are spurned, land is sighted
She lurches forward ready to meet the sun
For it knows she has finally come HOME.
