Who's gon' tell us what's goin' on with the world,
When I see it's crushing down about my ears?
When from the flame, as we thought, will never be gone,
Remained just trifling sparks, all fell away, my dear.
Few months, more weeks and damn many days...
I didn't count 'em, all they've scarred on my heart,
You don't even have no idea how it may be hard
Just to live, knowing that you're suddenly all outta faith.
Three months, I don't need more,
Only three, and I know I will be sober,
Maybe, I'll know it's never really over,
I will breathe freely and outlive these three months,
Just three months, and I will be sober.
I can't forget the past, because it's haunting me,
Makin' me feel that I can walk thru the closed door,
And what we've done wasn't wrong, but was it?
So it's just illusion, and we can turn 'round anymore.
I'm living by the broken promises no more,
I'm getting that I gotta pass it thru and carry on,
But something makes me stick around and wait
With the hope that I ain't fully outta faith.
