The Winter of My Mind

Contributed by lesoleilnoire on Thursday, 26th November 2009 @ 07:47:55 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Hibernation of imagination,
frozen inspiration waiting for Spring's thaw,
Thoughts ice skate in my mind
and
crash before awakening my creativity;
overcast sky creates a gloomy backdrop.
Dark thoughts float on stormy clouds of doom.
My mind is seduced by sensual sleep;
I must fight to stay awake and endure the bleak decayed mindscape,
for Winter freezes inspiration in my icicles of tears.

Your words are awesome, how am I the only one to comment on this? I can tell that you are very good with words, great poem, I too am torn between the bliss of sleep, or the pain that must be endured while awake, but something that I have always known is that any real and great insight to anything is not going to come to you while you are sleeping, so I guess it is sort of a trade. Best of luck to you, may your meandering path of life lead you to something resembling fulfillment to you.

I've been thinking of winter as well. I like the way you describe the scene of the poem. I must say that it was short yet to the point and efficient. Take care,
Deidra

personification...superb!
i guess winter's not for everyone,
but it should be a time for smiles and gratitude
as another opportunistic year approaches.
that's my take on it.
i think this is one of your best writes

take care
