Find My Joy Or Die Tryin'

Contributed by Alexa_Bachtel on Thursday, 3rd December 2009 @ 05:55:21 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I drive around in my fast car,
Tryin' to get somewhere,
I don't know where I'm goin'
But does the hell it really matter?
Pictures of the better days
Are swirlin' in my head
And it makes me feel a lil' bit better,
Cuz I know everythin' is not so bad
And it seems, sooner or later
I'll reach out for my destination.

The sun on my side,
And the wind blows through my hairs,
Here it is, this unforgettable sense
Inspirin' me with the happiness.
Yes, the life fleets by
And time don't seem to goin' to wait
But at least I'm pretty young
To get what I really want,
And find my joy or die triyn'

The tank has almost got empty,
So I can pull over right here
And enjoy the things I've left
Somewhere up there, in the past.
Nope, I'm lookin' no further
For the things that never were
Cos this is the time I should
Change somethin' in my life
And finally cross the line
That divides past me from future me.

The sun on my side,
And the wind blows through my hairs,
Here it is, this unforgettable sense
Inspirin' me with the happiness.
Yes, the life fleets by
And time don't seem to goin' to wait
But at least I'm pretty young
To get what I really want
To find my joy or die triyn'

So what if I break down?
So what if I can't find my way
Through the clouds, constantly
Running scared from life with closed eyes?
Cuz no one cares if I overrule myself
If I'm gonna make somethin' as they said
I'd never make, and get 'em wonderin' how?
Yes, the road to happiness is always long
But whatever life will bring I'll hold it on.

Cos even the sun on my side,
And the wind blows thru my hairs,
Here it is, this unforgettable sense
Inspirin' me with the happiness.
Yes, I know that life fleets by
And time don't seem to goin' to wait
But at least I'm pretty young
To get what I really want,
And find my joy or die triyn'

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
