there is a hole within the flame
i know you don't understand
but there is a hole within the flame
each time you scream in agony
the hole becomes easier to see
but, the hole can never be seen
through the blind eyes of hope
listen...
every face i see is ugly
painted with hate and deceit
shoulders sagging beneath the weight
of a lifetime of defeat
every word i hear is a lie
truth died so long ago
truth is, it's all a lie
it makes sense
but only for so long
every inch of this world is a flame
not aflame,
a flame
yet the fire breeds no warmth
all is cold and sterile
beyond all this
at the end of hope
you will find the only exit
only when you've run out of hope
will you run out of questions
with despair, all answers are known
every single drink i take
is a silent wish for death
and every cigarette that i choke down
is a prayer that, this time
i won't catch my breath
in the end, we are all the same
once you've seen past
the curtains of life
and glimpsed the hideous machines
that turn the wheels
you will all be the same
race, religion, sexuality
none of this will matter
for once you've seen past
every lie you've been told
you will all scramble madly
searching for the exit
that lies beyond all hope
riddles with no answer
are the easiest of all
because you cannot be right
but you cannot be wrong
all that is needed is faith
unfortunately, faith is suicide
eventually, all you will have
is the Nothing that lies just beyond
the hole within the flame
as the flames grow darker, yet fiercer
i smile and crawl through the hole
yes, there is a hole within the flame
and i'm stepping through to the otherside
don't you see? the hole is sweet death
and the flame is the pain of this life

Dark as life, I like it.
It has cold feel to it, With a true meaning behind the words.
If one looks with their eyes, and hears with their heart then the truth you portray through this poem will be understood.
