My mind is thinking about my dad The man I thought I knew He always told me about the trees And now we have so few He took us fishing in handmade boats By big rocks miles high When he left us on the shore All us kids would cry We'd ask our mom to comfort us When daddy was not home She'd tell us all the happy things That made my daddy roam The water it would beckon him The trees call me and you But when he caught a mommy fish It tore his heart in two
