I - Comings
She's holding on Holding on to you
tight and safe against the night
Against the unknowns that tomorrow might bring
And when she finds all it offers is more of the same
she'll be safe on her own for one more day
the only thing changing in your small world
the seasons of her comings and goings
II - Goings
The cold winter wind blows right through me
Like the words you carefully construct
Seasonal repitition Following its own footprints In the blizzard of snow That passes for your train of thought
the white street lights repeating on the way out of town Like dangling carrots
the wet pavement underneath the wheels a more sincere landscape than your tear-stained face
The early come dusk A metaphor you can't recognize
