This could have been a love poem
If tears weren't on my face
If my heart wasn't aching
If my soul, I could replace
This could have been a ballad of love
If I hadn't let you go
If I wasn't such a fool
If we went with the flow...
Yes, this could have been our song
If I hadn't broken your heart
This could have meant the world to us
If I hadn't torn us apart
This should have been on the radio
The moment we had our first kiss
Should have let my heart decide
Because now it's you I miss.
This could have been a love poem
If I'd had the heart to write it
If you wouldn't have let me leave
If I hadn't refused to admit it.
This should have been our ballad
When we danced in the moonlight
It is so wrong in this world
But to us, it felt so right...

| I hope you are doing ok, i worry by the tone of your poem. Although so sad, it's very vivid. I enjoyed reading your work, but wish you never had to write it. I don't know the situation you're in, but don't let your loved one go without a fight. Even if you made a mistake - fight for what you believe in. Best of luck. |
