For my Shadow

Contributed by JusMeOtay on Saturday, 5th April 2003 @ 04:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Sometimes I wish I had another life
An identity that could run and hide

In this life I must face it all
No time to shove my chair back and fall

I gotta keep going no matter what
Whoever decided I would call the shots?

I'm tired of my little shadows
Day and night they always follow

I must lead them down that path so straight
They look up to me and wait

I just want to sit down and cry
Or maybe just spread my wings and fly

Just to get away and not look back
But that'll never happen, thats a fact

I'm so scared to let go and fail
To take the rope and let out the sail

I'll do my best to live right and pray
Do what I can to make the most of every day

So I pray for strength from my Father above
and know that no matter what...there is still His love.

i can really relate to this...It is hard (impossible) to live the "perfect" life. It hurt so bad when I did fall and they witnessed it all. It took me a while to realize I don't have to be perfect...I just have to try my best and when I do fall let them see me also repent.
