ten o'clock rendezvous
with beers, my bed, or her baby blues
the latter is getting less and less
and i don't sleep, so take a guess
as to what my current status is...
alone and drunk and full of ******.
and we'll drive around the city like we've never seen it
and in a way I haven't, it's never looked this bright
the neon signs and streetlights seem to bounce off your blue eyes.
and it will be perfect, will it be perfect?
A week ahead I'll give it my best
or shot's in the dark with all my friends
will become the remedy again
oh i wish this would all just end.
and ties would come undone, and then
we wouldn't have to just pretend
or just be friends or try to defend
the rumors, the stories, the answer when they ask
when you said you loved her did she say it back?
oh, but you did.
we'd lose ourselves in sheets that have never kept us warm
and they will.
we'd lose ourselves in song lyrics that never meant much before
and they will.
you'll look at me with your eyes and say i love you babe
and you will.
and i'd grab your hand and pull a strand of hair away from your face.
and look you in the eyes and say it slowly, soft and strait...
and i love you
and i will.
