The Old Abandoned Home (Away From Home)

Contributed by TheJMan on Tuesday, 22nd December 2009 @ 11:38:49 PM in AEST
Topic: surreal

All these closed doors that never seem to open
With windows nailed shut with cold bars on them
A prison by any other mind without a breath of day
It's all to familiar a place where everything is OK

My home away from home
The only place I've ever known
And I have peace of mind knowing
These walls give plenty of room to roam

And wander away through every single room
Facing the world without ever leaving
My quiet little tomb

Silently sitting in an old rocking chair
Watching the people outside who can't help but stare
Im not apart of there world so they locked me in here
But this place doesn't bother me it's out there I fear

This is my home away from home
My personal sanctuary where Im left alone
I wouldn't trade it for everything that you see
This is my home and it always will be

Liked this very much.

Take care.

My home away from home
The only place I've ever known
And I have peace of mind knowing
These walls give plenty of room to roam

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
