When the curtains close and the night turns black When people go home, when they turn their back When TVs turn on, and kids go to bed You have no idea, what starts to go through my head The day is ending, the night draws near But all I do, is begin to fear The day ahead, one more day of pain One more day of distress, one more day of rain This night goes on forever until My mind turns off; my body is still This sleep is what I desire There is no fear, when theres no fire Burning inside, keeping you alive This is what I crave, this is what I strive For nothing can be worse than this life I am living This emptiness, this fakeness, its all never-ending Ive tried all my options, theres no other way out Than to end it all myself, dont scream or shout This is what I want, this is how it will be It wont be long until I am free

Amen... good, honest, hard-hitting poem.
The day ahead, one more day of pain
One more day of distress, one more day of rain
Loved those two lines they speak volumes to me.

actually what I really like about this poem is that the underlying theme, suicide: the endless sleep, coincides directly with the sleep at the end of the each dreary day. So the poem presents a neverending daily struggle: death or sleep? =) |
