If I could have just a wish; It wouldnt be for gold; It wouldnt be for wealth or fame; Or not to grow too old.
Ill never wish for peace on Earth; Or wish to your good health; Ill not wish for friends or love; Or you to live in wealth.
Though this wish might be all for naught; And something that just might fail; But its a chance Ill take, all the same; To peer beyond the veil.
So dispense with your religious myths; You see, Ive not missed a single lore; Besides the wish remains the same; What lies beyond the door?

wow. I was so impressed with that last stanza. This was so well written- full of thoughts that most people want to pretend are not there. And the flow and rhyme is so natural, the reader can just breeze through it and let the words sink in. Wonderful post! Bravo, poet!
