It's as if you took
A love under construction
And turned it into
A game of destruction
When the time came
A time of dire need
You made it a joke
I felt my heart bleed
Since that time
Now five months or so
I've tried to heal
From that fatal blow
Every thing I saw
Every thing I read
Sent images of you
Tripping my head
So you can lump me,
In with the "jerks and losers"
But darling you've made
This beggar a chooser
The pain still lingers
Like an old curse
Today I thank God
It could have been worse
I gave you my heart
That was my fate
I'm glad you discarded
Before it's too late
