Serenity
Each night as I spend my time awake
A little more of my soul it does take
Searching for something that is just beyond my grasp
Finding serenity has become the ultimate task
Watching over those I love as they sleep
Guarding their safety is the job I keep
Reaching the corners of the globe
Gently those awake at their ear lobe
Giving love that that has carried me thus far
Holding each as a special shining star
Never seeking love to nurture my own beating heart
Yet with you, there was something unique right from the start
As time evolves and the days and nights do pass
The connection strengthens and becomes clear as glass
Each step taken by you lowers another hurdle in my mind
Yours is the love I have been waiting years to find
