Grief

Winter has arrived, in all her frozen bliss And I have come to find it isn't you I miss The world is cold, dull and bleak Just like your heart, and shelter, I seek Your laugh used to make me smile But I haven't seen you laugh for awhile Your life got rough; you don't know how to be So you took your frustration out on me...
Spring has begun; flowers begin to bloom But I am hiding here, in my room On the floor, where you left me to lie After our arguments, when the fists fly Tears stain my cheeks; I cannot move And then I realized what I had to do.
Summer is welcome; the sun warms my skin Happily showing; no bruises outside or in I am no longer your prisoner of hate Now I'm loving myself, and I shall wait I'm patiently healing, I'm waiting to see If there is someone out there for me Someone who loves me and cherishes me whole Someone who has the antidote to heal my soul.
