BUTTERFLIES
In the park that no-one went to We ran like children through the long grass And the warmth of the sun Dried our tears before they fell down
It was your beauty that attracted me, as I ran and tried to chase you I ran with outstretched arms But you still escaped my capture
After what seemed like many hours Eventually I caught you We were oblivious to time And the world which was outside
I kissed you and then slowly We fell down into the long grass And my heart was beating so fast That I feared that I may die
And as we lay there looking upwards Darker skies were fast approaching So we ran to find some shelter And as we ran we danced like butterflies.
