CANCER WITHIN
The cancer within, so scary and real
Why it has picked me, not sure how to feel
Lurking and hiding, with only one goal
Attacking our organs, our minds and our souls
Dividing and growing, moving ever so slow
An unending appetite, they grow and they grow
Treatments are rough, the drugs are surreal
Those living with cancer, surely know how I feel
weakening our bodies, our hopes and our dreams
All is not lost, as though it sure seems
Mentally draining, the future unclear
Only one wish, for the new coming year
A renewed look on life, I reflect and I grin
This shall truly be the year, we kill the cancer within

Your poem moved me greatly. I am sorry for the overdeal you are enduring. You express your emotions beautifully here. I love the hope expressed in this piece also. I will keep you in my thoughts. I hope you feel better soon! Beautiful poem!
