Car engines cough and finally roll over Sleep comes off and I come alive The streets are awake with cold composure Faces are carved and cut from ice
November
Production boots up and levers are pulled Extruders press burning metal down the line Dry hands cling fast to worn out tools An ear to the ground and a cigarette on the mind
Pipeline
A stank dark hotel steals my body from the weather I sit with Jenny then loosen my coat My head unravels while my tongue comes untethered Smoke in my lungs and hope down the throat
Jenny
