The kitchen window panes show their ware The old man just sits and stares Within his mind are yesterdays Happier times that now fade away
In his patience he would know How fast does grass grow His mind strong his body weak A lonesome tear runs down his cheek
His children once his joy Three daughters five little boys Too many days gone unseen Flowers grow every spring
His mind so wanders Wonders His wife long gone he is alone Forlorned
Whats and whys and could have beens Lunch but a can of cold beans He thinks its been so long Where and when did I do wrong
His sickness eats within God forgive my sin To every season a time for peace Never too late nor out of reach
A blue jay lites on the feeder outside Tears never come old eyes are dry Must feed my birdies Each day he rises early
One morning a moaning dove To every season a time for love Coo Coo its lovely cry Lonesome he sits inside
How long has it been God bless my lovely children Grand children he hardly knows Winters gone the crocus grow
Prayer now his daily chore A time for peace a time for war Power over earth is satans domain Have mercy on my children and all who remain
Days are long and years are short A body weak will soon depart Father to You my soul will return Bones to dust is what he yearns

Wow....a wonderful bit of reflective poetry.... Throughout the poem I could actually see his thoughts unfolding... well done..
