Pilgrims on Apocalypse Road

Contributed by puppy_dog_eyes on Friday, 29th January 2010 @ 03:33:08 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

The seed sewn in the mists of time
Culivated by ignorance and greed
Germinated in the fertile ground of self consumed minds
Grew into what is the now
This stark reality
Empty gift of our forefathers
Scoured earth, bruised and beaten
Dies from wounds too deep to repair
Bare rocks exposed
Bones where once wild flowers threw colour to sky
Grey smog chokes the light
Day is night if not for those who mark it down
This is your legacy
Perfect in imperfection
Triumph of misconception, you delivered us to hell
Tempest plays us like a toy
Spits a planet's dying rage
We nurse but she is growing weaker
Our medicine cannot repair, just punctuate the end
As land slips into rising tide when polar icecaps fade
We wait among the pilgrims on Apocalypse Road

Well done.
Triumph of misconception, you delivered us to hell These words are very powerful.
When you come back, you come back with a vengense that hell can't get away from.
Good work my handsome puppy dog.
Missed you.
huggs, smiles, blessings,
emy
