I get high cause Im moving slow.
Got things to do
But between me and you.
I get less done, when Im under the gun,
Or point as the case may be.
After the point,
or toking a joint.
I wander around,
loosing pounds,
Back and forth,
And to and fro.
Never sure which way to go.
Looking lost,
I move piles of stuff,
I should have tossed.
From here to there,
But it never really goes anywhere!
Junk! Junk! Junk!
Everywhere I look is junk!
Baskets and bags,
and boxes and trunks.
All of them full of frickin junk!
I'm surrounded in this pointless *****,
and I never really notice it.
I'm oblivious to the mess you see,
because the point of it is hiding me.
I know the reason why I have to hide.
Though to myself I've tried to lie.
Me, Myself, and frickin I!
We three talk about it constantly,
But never ever honestly.
We try and try to justify,
what we know is just a lie.
A fruitless and exhausting job,
which leaves us just an angry mob.
This inner turmoil is self inflicted,
And knowing that, keeps me afflicted.
We lie to ourselves time after time,
always keep buying that same old line.
Its not that bad, Ill quit tomorrow.
But when tomorrow comes,
We start again,
Back at the beginning,
It never ends

To read your words it's rather stunning
I've been there and you didn't leave out anything
it's what people can relate to that brings us together
truly addiction is lack of moderation
but I'm sure it's the act of forfeiting
everything else which is frowned upon
I started a reward system for myself ,like a child
when all my buisness was handled
only then could I sit back and truly free my mind
I love the honesty and sincerity in this passage
not to mention you write very well

I can relate to this alot with my own battle of chasing that dragon. You write the tale so well and really show the reader your agony my wishes and hopes go out to you that someday you can be free of that devil on your shoulder.

I did too and the chase finally ended when I surrended to god and NA.

I couldn't of said it better unless i was video taping many episodes and atmospheric conditions in my life! I really been there done that! I went fron fast 2 slow and back and to and fro!!.. So i know you know!! Great work, you tell it like it is in your world it seems and with poetry that's a golden gift! I love to write about my truth's no matter how brutal they are at that moment i write them!! Keep writing never quit!! Please keep posting & sharing with people like me we need it!!

BAMMM!!! There it is right there!! Friggin straight up,real talk!! Took courage to step up 2 the plate and hit that grand slam too!! For someone like me who's on the same page,it means a hell of alot to find words like these!!! Never Quit writing,Or quit being so real!! And always,Share,share,share, you dont know how much it helps An Addict like me to identify&know im not alone in this living Hell!
