My only friend was perfect. He knew everything about me. He always did what I wanted to do. He was always with me. But then came a day My parents forced him to go. They said I was too old To have an imaginary friend. They said I was too old To have my only friend.

An extremely sad but equally beautiful post. I am sorry you had to endure that... but have faith.. I grew up with 2 brothers and six sisters and I am still considered anti-social..

Perhaps your parents were right, Rykor. Imaginary friends are a wonderful part of almost everyone's childhood. But soon enough it's time for "school" and other such "realities," leaving room for imagination of a more advanced level and necessity. Keep on imagining, my good friend; imagine good things and wondrous things...but keep your feet planted firmly in reality. Beautiful poem indeed. I read it over and over! |
