Promises Burning Bright

The burning was good; the burning was fine. I love how no one questions my sick, sick high. My head finally cleared and for once I could breathe; You know, there's only two things that do that to me. I long to fly high, to escape the pain, To fill the hole and to silence my brain. There are no secrets' there can be no lies, So why do I still hide behind this innocent disguise? So here I am, frantic and more Trying to escape a pain I can't ignore. I don't want to go there; I don't want to see-- Those places, those faces, might really kill me. But I suppose I can no longer pray to die With those I love finally breaking inside. So now I am bound by your promises bright, With only your love to get me through the night. Amazingly, somehow I might make it through; Lucky for me, I finally chose you.
