Its as if I pulled a lever to stop a great gyrating cogwheel The sweat beading on my brow rushes as a waterfall Or would have, I would not require assumption had it all not evaporated upon expulsion
My crescent eyes scan the oversaturated plain I dont recall the world monochromatically beget Yellow gulls sound off and take to yellow skies And I assess the yellow feeling inside
A mere decade ago Id be hurdling over sprinklers Wet shirt cohesive to my chest like animal skins The ballfield would ignite my appreciation of hue Manicured green harmonized with cerulean blue
Yellow translucence stands firm and trees stay fruitful The waters ever warm as are sprinklers still spritzing Summer lingers on from the cogwheels I thwart Yet my face wears thin and the gulls still depart!
It just doesnt quite feel like summer when summer never goes
My catharsis erupts leaving only traces of yearning -If I restore the lever will the world resume turning?
