I'm dancin' with the shadows
In the dark
Almost blind or just half
Outta my mind,
I've been warned you'll come
As a spark of the light
But I ain't told you're gonna
Go out quite as fast.
Are you here to save me
And show me the way
I should obey to make
The world bent over me
Or are you here to show me
That the love has left me
Walkin' out that door with
No promise to come back.
Mommy used to tell me that
Love don't make no promises,
And you'll never hold what's
Never really belonged to you
Let it go and if it returns
Back to you again it's yours
And if it don't, so that means
It's never been really yours.
Cos remember, that love
Don't make no promises.
First I was afraid
Of the sincerity in you,
Cos no one ever
Looked at me quite as you do
You told me: Baby,
I'd take you wherever you want,
And I was sayin'
No more words, just let's go.
I wasn't afraid to get burnt
So naive and foolish,
Because I wanted
To share this eternity with you
I felt so fearless as I was able
To climb the mountains
Cos you were the one
To give me this vibe.

The dream has thawn
In the time circulation,
Returned to reality,

The basis of an affection,

It takes away as quickly
As well as it gives

Semi-hidden into shade
I see the pain reflexion
On your pretty face
You're hurtin'
Cos you came here
To take away the last thing that I have
