Once upon a time The words were rivers in my mind They flowed endlessly Ceaselessly Reaching a waterfall They would crash Tumbling, relentless Inspiration; never-ending Hitting the rocks Ink on the page in front of me Now the river is no more The constant beating of the sun Has turned the words to dust They form but crumble Instantly I hold pen in hand And stare intently at it The black well is full with ink But as dry and as barren as the desert

very well written.

Fuzzy
Once upon a time…
The words were rivers in my mind
They flowed endlessly
Ceaselessly
Reaching a waterfall
They would crash
Tumbling, relentless
Inspiration; never-ending
Hitting the rocks |

this is a horrible state to be in and you've described it beautifully with perfect metaphor.
I see you haven't posted for some time, are you still subject to this state?Having read your work I'd like to read more.
