I Had A Dream

Contributed by JakerBaker88 on Monday, 15th February 2010 @ 09:18:29 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

I am one with a voice
Who wished the world to change,
I used this voice to help this cause
To inspire ohers to wish for the same.

I rallied; I toiled to get this wish across
To make it the future of this present loss,
I wanted everyone to see that all men are equal
No matter what their color or their creed.

I grieved for all those who died along the way
Called hom to God becuse of long lasting hate.
I angered towards those who committed these crimes,
I was praying for their souls,
Wanting them to see as I see
Never losing this hope.

I fourght for the freedom of so many
This I did through out my life
Never losing faith in the wish I had,
That I knew woul be real in time.

I died, however, in this battle
Cut short in my prime
Never seen my wish truly take flight.

I am buried six feet underground,
I have just one more wish-----
The wish that on my gravestone
My name will not be all that is written.

Instead I need for them to write,
" The man who had a dream,"
That Martin Luther King Jr. was that man who had a dream.

Hi,

Unfortunately, in our times so many men have had
the dream only to be cut short in their prime,
either by an assassin's bullet or political obscurity.

A fine tribute to a great man!

This write is truly admirable
M.L.K did so much for a world
full of miniacal deviant men in power
first J.F.k then M.L.K we can't be silent because
they weren't and it cost them their lives
but what's life without truth and freedom
again truly honorable well written passage
