A view out my window

Out my window came a view most haunting Two kids running the night Their wicked laughter trailing On my floor a rock lay opaque Sleeping away the stillness that it had broke It erupted in me a feeling Of desolation and Armageddon The aftermath of a crime committed
My window was an empty sun in one corner A hole where air and light could now enter freely Just a spider web of cracked debris Justified without a thread of reason If it wasnt a crime it could have been art I stared at awe at the unexpected chaos That shattered my dinner For I was no longer hungry
My mind began to plot Ideas of vengeance and righteousness I would get them for this Id be ruthless and relentless The Charles Bronson of my neighborhood Gangs and thieves would not be safe Barb wire fences, landmines, and trenches Danced through my head
I became a Conservative in one blinding moment My rage wiped away liberal ideals As I built walls strapped with electricity Armed my own personal vendetta A gun fully loaded with buckshot of justice Their wounds would be a warning to all For I would descend upon them a most unnerving fury They would know my name
But out of the darkness The shadow of my anger Came a light of clarity Breaking through the clouds of red A memory of my younger self Days forgotten in the gray Just a kid who laughed At the destructiveness of life
Throwing rocks through unknown windows Smiling at their end with delight Knowing no consequences only action The devil in me young Not even a goatee on the beard of me now Karma came crashing down I swallowed my pride And began the process of picking up the pieces
