Love

Contributed by purplestary on Tuesday, 23rd February 2010 @ 01:31:52 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Love is like the moon,
rising in the middle of the afternoon
before the sun even thinks about setting,
with one lingering cloud
befriending it in a sky so blue,
that B.B. King gets nervous.

Love is like the warmest day of the year
taking place in the dead of winter
when the freeze sets in,
and it seems to never end.

so, when your riding in your car
and you look up to the sky,
you see that the afternoon moon
is holding hands with a cloud,
the sun is shining so bright
out of jelousy, no doubt,
and your taking in the warmest day of the year
all happening while snow still falls
everywhere, but here.

Remember, that this is love.
always keeping you warm in the cold
and always there when you need it the most
when hope is lost, and the world ruins your day
just look to the sky,
because it will never look so blue,
The sun may never be jelous again,
and tomorrows forcast is calling for ice...

Liked the imagery and setting on this poem. It took me back to some "good old days". Thanks for the flashback.

A veteran poet dropping wisdom
nothing more beautiful than that
I don't know that I've seen love
painted more precisely and cleverly
there is so much depth it's hard
to grasp it all at once
an honor
