I'm a romantic, there's no reason to lie I fall in love with a handshake and an introduction, everytime Maybe it's the way she smiles as she drinks her cocktail Or how she brings her hair to her nose For that familiar bar/cigarette smell Or the way she says "this is only drink number 2" As she orders another and stumbles back to her barstool Am i wrong for feeling that connection that only alcohol brings? Am I wrong that this jack and coke has me second guessing things? Would she look at me weird if I lit up a smoke? Can she tell that I've been fake laughing at all of her jokes? Does she find it cute when I buy her, her favorite drink? Or when I comment how her shirt matches her hair clip thing Does she know I've already planned our first date? Maybe we'll feed some ducks and picnic on the lake Should I give her space to go back and hang with the girls Or be cheesy and say she has the prettiest eyes in the world I decide it'd be best to back off and give her, her space I'll go back to my friends and try to evaluate Did I smile enough? Did I look sincere? Should I of asked for her number or what she's doing when she leaves here? I need to build courage, so I finish my glass Put it down on the table, take a quick cigarette drag I have to find her and tell her exactly how I feel I scan the room looking for my brunette with the blue heels I look everywhere, is it possible she left? Did she walk right by me on her way to the exit? I order a beer, as any dejected guy would do I feel a tap on my shoulder, and a blonde says "Hi how are you?" Instantly the brunette is out of my mind I mean I'm a romantic, there's no reason to lie.
