Goddess of Bliss! O Devi Saraswati!
Your moon-like beauty is heightened
By white lotuses bloomed on the waves
Of blue splendor of the Heavens!
O auspicious and favorable Goddess!
Forest fire of the forest of evil thoughts
The universe worships Thy lotus feet
Destroyer of Ignorance, Joy dost thou
Cause to those who salute Thee!

O Mother, Thou art the wealth
Of the lotus face of the Creator
Essence of Word, devoid of attributes
You are neither gross nor subtle.
None know Thy nature and Thy reality.
Thou art the whole universe; and
Thou existeth within it as Eternal Sound.
Ever pure art Thou.Without a division
Thou existeth in Thy fullness everywhere.
Thy crown is white as Snow.
Thou art adorned with a white necklace
Thy hands ever play on a diamond lute
Producing the melody of the Creation.
O Mother! Mother! salutation to Thee.
Burn, burn my sloth and grant me
Great intelligence, and heavenly bliss!

Thou art the Bliss of Knowledge itself.
All Scriptures ever speak of Thee.
O giver of liberation! O way to liberation!
Whose power is beyond all understanding.
O Mother, grant me Thy full grace!
Thou art joyful, of smiling face,of innocence
Current of charm, and of good fortune.
With all powers arrest and burn, burn our sins,
And dispel the darkness of our evil thoughts.
I pray to Thee, I pray to Thee, I bow to Thee,
Come to my tongue and never leave me.
May my intelligence never go astray
May I be free from worldly sorrows
May my mind work freely without
Impediment in Sastra disputation and verse!

He who chastely lives, while observing
Non violence, abstaining from flesh and wine
And bowed with devotion, early each morning
Praises Thee with this most excellent Hymn
Will, skillful in speech, surpass even Brahma.
Such an one gains the fruit of his desires,
Devi Saraswati protects him as though
He were Her own beloved child.
Poetry flows from his mouth,
Prosperity attends his house, and
Every obstacle to success disappears!
