The night is so cold, I am so weak, The wet pavement under foot, I do not even speak.
I am almost naked, Running through the night, Someone is chasing me, Has given me a fright.
I feel the wind, It touches my skin like ice, Whoever is following, Does not want to play nice.
My bare feet ache, I must not give up I vow, But I am running out of breath, Darkness surrounds me now.
I fall onto the earth, I have no more energy in my stride, I hold my hands out in front, Trying to keep my pride.
I can see but a shadow, He seems to smile at me, I look up at him with eyes that plead, For him to leave me free.
His hand grabs my hair, And he pulls me to my feet, I scream, I hiss, I yell, I cannot even retreat.
He drags me down an alley, My legs are scraped, on fire, I claw at his coat tails, Then he grabs a wire.
My neck is bare and alone, Easy target to get, As he strangles me in the alley, I vow to never forget.
