The New Cool

My concept of cool has changed throughout the years
when hot shots in leather coats killed vampires with blades
to quarterbacks throwing touch downs and well getting paid
From reality bimbo's getting their 30 seconds, getting made
To some disobedient foul mouth rappers, getting laid

But as I've grown older, I've grown wiser, I see
That these characters are symbol and not substance, not what I thought them to be
Power comes from the world leaders, scientists, and thinkers that free
Our minds and navigate us towards "their" desired destinies

So if you want to be cool, you'll need more than sit ups my friend
Because the strongest muscle you can work, is your mind again and again
You're mind with take you farther than your feet ever can
Power is the new cool, oh you didn't hear, well turn off the TV, it's not late to tune in
