Love's Splendors

A glance across the room, feelings of
anticipation, butterflies, hunger, passion.
They meet and chatter a while. No thoughts
of the future, only thoughts of elation and
splendor. Unable to show themselves, masks
are worn. They embrace, kiss, Lust.

What next? A ring is worn, plans are made,
trouble brews. Anger arises, Thoughts of
what could be, and what should not. Conversations of mistrust, stress,
disappointment, but love breaks through,
ceremonies performed, the multitude weep.

Life ensues, scuffles, laughter, yelling,
passion, weeping, marriage. Time goes by,
children are born, age takes over, nests
are emptied. End is coming, fear takes
over, denial in abundance.

They turn and glance across the room, feelings of anticipation, butterflies, hunger, passion. Each other, together, they have forever.
Smiles ensue, Happiness, Joy, and Laughter.
