When the leaves are falling
You're washed up like the waves across the sea
You no longer fly like the birds that are so free
Though you once stood as tall as that old oak tree
But it's not to be
While the snow is laying
Memories about the past cross your mind
Old pictures and letters have been sealed and signed
But there's nothing new for you to find
Has your life been unkind?
While the rain is pouring
You wash away the man that you have been
You forget all the things that you have seen
You're asked to stop being so cold and mean
To wipe the slate clean
While the sun is shining
A new beginning starts in this world for you
You know all the things that you should do
You can't go back to the way you once knew
You must stay true
But you will rise again
And you will never feel the pain
You've come back from the depths of despair
And now it's only fair
You get your chance
To love again
So you have come again
And this time you will never be the same
All the mistakes you made are in the past
This time it'll last
And you'll get your chance
To love again...
