The Words I've Found

Ive written a hundred lines
Trying to figure out how to put this the right way
But I found out there arent enough words to cover
All the things I need to say
Ive tried a thousand words
To try and let you see
But no matter how many I write
I cant explain what this friendship means to me
Our friendship isnt normal
In fact it is far better than that
A friendship that now that I have
I am not willing to give back
We met that night,
At that one school dance.
Never has something like this happened to me,
Especially not by chance.
The memories weve made
And the thoughtful words you said
Never seem to leave my mind
Just keep spinning round in my head.
Your friendship and support
Means more then you will ever know
Youve helped me accept myself the way I am
And people like that you just dont let go
Who knows whats to come next
With my friendship with you
But all I know is that
What we have I dont want to lose
We both have a lot we are going through
A lot of confusion and things unsure
But just having you as a friend
As made some of those things a blur
So these are the words I found
To try to explain the thoughts in my head to you
I know they arent all there
Because finding them all is impossible to do
This poem is kinda dumb
And I probably seem stupid right about now
But I needed to tell all of this to you
And this was the only way I knew how

Splendid! Quite, I love how sometimes there is a very "poem-y" beat to it, but other times it's as if you said:
"I don't care any more. It's the meaning that's important. It's not the words, but what they point to."
Tell it like it is. That's all it can ever be.

| Not stupid not dumb straight from the heart and saying what needs to be said, your friendship and support means more than you will ever know, well I hope they know now as the message is loud and lovingly clear. |
