preservation

Topic: Lifepoems

it is the third day of gloom
The rain pelts my head and runs down my face like an uncontrollable sweat.

The heavy weather has me identifying my forlorn state.
Suddenly it's agony of mind and spirit,as I again find myself in deterioration.

I seek refuge within the cities subterranean subway system.
i pray for another night of preservation,as I step into the train and examine the car, leery of preditors.

I do manage on occasion to close both eyes,as i ride back and forth from south ferry to the bronx.

And still there's this melancolia.

I'm much better than this.

There's no reason for this torment.

The iron enters my soul,as the train rocks from side to side.
Slowy i fall into the hands of morpheus.

Silently wishing that it was that, dreamless sleep.

people say;"i wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemy".
I would love for my enemy to go through this.

the dawn has arrived,as we roll into the bronx for the sixth time.

and me?

i prepare myself for another fight with desolation, and i'm drunk now................
