You know when I've done things wrong, like yesterday
And that time I pushed you out of the way
I know you won't believe me because it sounds absurd
But I still find it hard to say those words
When we exchange our views, then we agree you're right
When I lost out to you in that fight
I've tried my best to say something you've never heard
But I still find it hard to say those words
If I say it once, it might make all the difference
But will the air still feel so tense?
You make me feel so small, I wish I could fly away with the birds
Because I still find it hard to say those words
Mistakes, mistakes, you've made them too
But I'm always to blame, it's never you
You've never apologised to me like I would have preferred
That's why I still find it hard to say those words
So don't look surprised, because nothing is going to change real soon
I won't say it unless you change your tune
You already know, because in your mind it's already occurred
That I'll always find it hard to say those words
