LoveBirds

Contributed by Fuzzy on Wednesday, 24th March 2010 @ 10:13:43 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Two lovebirds, once did live, one in north, other south
both caged, lonely, wishing to fly free,to sing of happy
times,find another Heart,to beat as one,so many
years did pass, many lonely nights, both alone
within a cage,Both shared a dream,to break the
bars, that held them, chained to a lonely perch, then
by chance,Both doors left open, chains they broke
and flew away,One North, other South,as he flew
by,her Beauty caught his eye,This he could not
resist,Perched himself beside,Then stole a kiss

She,Turned and wrapped her wings, around pulled
him closer near,They sung all night, and played all
day,Both promised they would always stay,Love
they shared,as lovebirds should,Travelled far in
Skies of Blue,North to South, then turn about fly
back and forth,Turning to say "I love you" so
happy,forever would be,as time did pass,clouds
did come,to cast shadows of doubt,How could two
Lovebirds fight,Then one night she flew away, said
she could not stay,Now one flies Free in the North
The other, now caged down South,He often looks
From his perch,To search the North Sky

Beautifully written.......
It is so very sad whenever love comes to an end, Especially when one no longer feels
the same way as the other. leaving a great void which seems so hopelessly unfillable.
A great deal of tender loving care has gone into this poem, thank you Fuzzy.

A touching write my friend. There is an innocence to your words that show a vulnerability that can be admired so I applaud you for that. Well written Paul.

take care

I can't say enough how this touched my soul. Immensely sad, but so beautifully written. I adore the metaphor you used, especially at the end where the one who decides to fly remains free, leaving the other caged as if chained to memories. Damn emotional this was Paul. Powerful and painfully romantic.

I was startled by how immersed I became while reading this
Through this journey I felt the happiness
of two hearts joined together
there was a certain energy that was pure beauty
it's been said "all good things must come to end"
yet that doesn't make it any easier to cope with
enjoyable and close to our hearts nicely written
