May Day
Mother Earth cries her tears of pain She screams for mercy time and again Man, the hunter, with total ignorance Cares not for his inherited abundance No surprise, then, for the torrents of rain It is May and I echo her sentiment My own tears flow and I will not relent Selfishly my pain is not about our Earth But for my father on the anniversary of his birth A powerful life force that is now absent The heavens are open, droplets soon a flood I stare at the garden, spy a daffodil bud Pushing through soil, growing ascendant It strives for the sun upon which it is dependent To generate her natural green blood I marvel at the resilience, the strength of the flower Immediately the torrent reverts to a shower Is it a sign, a mark of respect? For a simple man of emotional neglect? On the rebirth of a parent by heavenly power

And what a wonderful way to look upon the rebirth of a kindred spirit, through the beauty of a flower bud.
I think we see things that we are meant to see, and it is our choice whether negatively or positively to unravel their meanings.
In this case, I believe you have chosen the latter......
Beautiful write Al - he'd be proud i'm sure x
