Immolation

"Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale." - Anonymous

I do not dare to have the answers,
not the whole of them, at least
For most would not believe them even if uttered,
(so far now from believing in magic)
and to do so would be blasphemy
Instead, I cover myself in the pure rapture,
The unflagging joy and redolent wonder than comes
When your soul merges into mine
and together we burn

Were two people ever meant to shimmer
And dance in cold fire like this?
Can the stories possibly be true?
Because even as I bask in its glow
I fear we are only a single breath from immolation

There is no past, no reason, no remorse
Just a fullness, a fastness,
to house the bounty of our passions
When you press yourself to me
The world reduces to sounds and
Against my closed eyelids, flairs the Aurora Borealis
Ever bright, ever beautiful and beyond all else

I know only that the world itself would tremble
Were we to be parted now
That despite all, with faith and hope
We two still reach across the silence
Of the night, joining everything we are
While the moon nods her head in accord

No, I do not have answers, save that
I love now, more than I ever thought to
I feel more, and want for more than I ever dreamed
And it is these thingsthis trust that anchors me
Not in the rolling waves and crushing surf
But the soft clear water of your harbor

So, if we are to expire, victims of our own conflagration
Then let us do so, lost to all else
Let us be blinded by the gift of each other
And the power that comes of us

Let us become the legend

oh my dear dawn! This was immobilizing! It literally stopped my movement for a moment. What a completely bewitching write! The allure of this is
enough to set fire to the entire Earth! I wanted to claim each line for my own as I read them. There is no better burning than that of inescapable
devotion... affection..... p a s s i o n .. for another human being. And WOW girl! You've captured that in this. Impeccable!

This. Is. Poetry!!!

(And one of the most romantic pieces I've ever read!) Well done, poet!!

Holy censored, Dawnie!!!! This is incredible. I was awestruck in the presence of this..this...like a symphony the builds into a crescendo with that last line.

I am so at a loss for proper adjectives.

Luff,

Timmers

Hi,

The other day I heard someone use the word
'immolation' and then I reached for the dictionary.
The dictionary says very little compared to this
passionate, sincere, burning fusion of love and
sacrifice.

A superb piece of poetry!

Such a magical quality about this, I'm still sitting here absorbing it all, awestruck at how you have crafted such work together.
Can't pick out one bit that stands out because it all flows so well.

Fantastic..

Steve

These were my fav lines:

I cover myself in the pure rapture,
The unflagging joy and redolent wonder than comes
When your soul merges into mine
and together we burn
