Some days I'd wake up with smudging dark eyes Still, I stare in the mirror at the lasting remnants of your influence
I feel violent tears creeping up my throat and I don't think this world can take me anymore
I'm not good at this game.
So I won't mind if you say farewell tonight But you should know I really tried. You've given me too many trials And this fluorescence you shine on me is way too bright But I tried.
I think I'll sleep for a while... so you won't have to watch me be me
If I could tell you what happens next If I could fix all the problems in your world I would help you forget all of my faltering and you wouldn't ache to remember me I'd be the tiniest memory in you One maybe worth remembering.
Maybe.

A nice portrayal of angst and emotion runs through this with unusual verse construction. Enjoyed it very much, thank you. Aliopterix. |

Self acceptance and worthiness are things that many of us, I am quite sure, question everyday......
We worry so much about the big things, when it's actually the little things in life that are so much more important.
I always remember my grandma saying "Look after the pennies, and the pounds will look after themselves" and I believe
this to be equally true in life, and personal well being - not just money.
We all need 'me' time, to find ourselves, and feel rooted to something solid and secure.....
Brilliant write x

Oh my. This is so excruciating. I am acquainted with the emotions bursting at the seems of this piece and it is near impossible to describe. For that reason alone, this poem is a magnificence. But there is so much more here to be appreciated. Beautifully well written and with a depth that defies any surface apologies. Awesome job. Really a joy to read.

Literally giving yourself an undeserving beat down. Her never knowing what she had and in the end im sure its her loss. There is pain in your words that kick your heart when reading this. So much hurt but very well written.
