Shame wrapped in secrecy Taken for granted Can you see those words On your forehead In the reflection of my eyes?
All I wanted Was another satellite To feel like a supergiant When I am only Pluto
Tiptoed a line That line we once tripped over And then never looked back
Avarice in love, Lust for admiration All on my resume For Hell
Dont forget about pride, A thing so deficient I tried to do the world a favor Years and years over
Now to overcompensate Caught up in human allowance I somehow think Ive earned
But I was right in the first place To think I never even deserved you
If you give a mouse a cookie...

This has quite a familiar ring to it. As humans we are
so eager to take what is offered-- but sometimes the
bait does come with a price attached to it. This was
so well written, filled with exceptional metaphors and
perfectly put thoughts.

Great imagery as you take us on a very honest appraisal of looking back at the way we treat people, and our failings such as pride, the guilt we feel, and the uncomfortable reality of how as human beings we can emotionally consume with no thought until hindsight jabs at our conscience |
